An Old Rectory

148 Malone Rd, Belfast BT9 5LH, United Kingdom
What We Offer:
The Old Rectory is a Northern Ireland Tourist Board registered 4 Star guesthouse and has been family owned and run for the last 24 years. The Old Rectory was built in 1896 for Rev Richard Seaver, minister of nearby St John’s Parish Church, Malone.  Henry Seaver, brother of the minister, was the architect of both St John’s Church and the Victorian Rectory.  The buildings both have beautiful stained glass windows and the church has several by Belfast born artist Wilhelmina Geddes. The Old Rectory Guesthouse is on the corner of Malone Road and Deramore Park South.  The area known as Malone comes from the Irish – Maigh Luain meaning “Luan’s plain” or plain of the lambs and is now a leafy residential suburb of Belfast.  Deramore Park, which in Irish is Pairc Dhoire Mor, means the Great Oak Wood.

This place is dated, in severe need of good seeing clean and in my opinion should have been closed years ago. All the owner went on about was how the troubles had depressed her so much it made her ill and considering the name, you’d think the vicar from 200 years ago had just stepped out for a moment.
Could not have been more perfect. The host, Gerry is a total gem! Brilliant historic structure. Loved the sitting room and fireplace. Over the top and delicious made-to-order breakfast every morning. The place was cozy, yet spotlessly clean. So warm and hospitable. Gerry helped me plan out my adventures, and gave me lots of tips, ideas, and helpful hints along the way. Beautiful, upscale neighborhood. Got a room with a lovely bathtub! Large room, adorable bathroom, and bed was so comfortable.
We were not disappointed. The house is very cosy and comfortable and the breakfast every morning was freshly cooked to order and could not be faulted. Even home made yoghurt and marmalade. Gerry is a talented chef and also gave us some very useful tips for sightseeing in Belfast.

The Warren Belfast

7 University Rd, Belfast BT7 1NA, United Kingdom
What We Offer:
This end terrace Grade 1 listed Victorian dwelling has been rescued from the brink of dereliction and transformed by Elite Company into a myriad of stylish rooms unlike any others. Where possible the elegant Victorian features have been restored and thus preserved. Chandeliers, wood panelling and gold mirrors give a luxurious aspect. The owners have scoured Belfast to add objects of curiosity and interest to individualise the rooms. If you are bored by staying in anonymous boxes, soulessly uniform and want to experience Belfast in style and comfort then this is your opportunity. There are 10 bedrooms with high ceilings, large en-suites and plenty of natural light. There is also the “Maid’s Suite” in the attic which has a small kitchen and living area. The Warren is located in the Queen’s University area and on the cusp of the Golden Mile where there are plenty of bars and restaurants.

This was an interesting property to stay in. Check-in was easy enough. We had the Belfast room and it was spacious and clean. My concern is with the responsiveness (lack thereof) from the Warren when we had issues with someone in our parking space. Additionally there were toilet flushing issues but my husband knew how to address that (if it had been me I wouldn’t have known what to do and we were already getting no response from the parking issues).

If ur tall or of the curver size avoid this place at all costs. And it advertises free car parking out the front on the street when it is actually £8.00 so false advertising.
Lovely little hotel centered perfectly in the middle of Belfast, honestly couldn’t have asked for a nicer place the room was really cozy and modern. Will definitely stay again.
