Definitely spend some time wondering the streets here. Old beautiful architecture blends with scruffy lane ways and incredible street art. Lots of food options and watering holes to stop in on and information boards to read up and learn lots too as you walk by things.
Good to see the cathedral looking lovely in the Spring sunshine.Sitting in Writer’s Square.
Beautiful historic building with a lot of history. Architectural beauty.

If Buildings Could Talk - Belfast Walking Tour

City hall, 9 Donegall Square N, Oppisite, Belfast BT1 5GB, United Kingdom Areas served
What We Offer:
This walking tour is not based on either of these big events but focuses on interesting and unusual stories that have happened in the City from 3 years ago to 350 years ago. This is neither a Conflict tour nor a Historical tour, it’s a tour telling stories of things that happened to the buildings or at the buildings. Every City has buildings with wonderful stories to tell and Belfast is no different. While you are in Belfast, come along to If Buildings Could Talk Tour and I will tell you the stories that the buildings might tell. Tourists find the walking tour very interesting and locals are surprised at the buildings they walk past every day and didn’t know the stories connected to them. Come the end of the tour everyone has their own favorite story. Belfast is a flat city so this walking tour is very relaxed and easy going but remember to wear the clothing for Belfast weather and comfortable footwear for a 2 hour walk covering 2 miles

I didn’t know what I was doing today in Belfast so I walked into the Belfast Welcome Centre and asked for a good all around tour. The man at the desk called Barney, and even though Barney was headed home since he didn’t have any scheduled hours left, he came back just to show me around! His kindness for doing that and thoughtful research into the buildings, along with a great knowledge of Belfast and a fanatic sense of humor, made this a can’t miss tour.
What a great tour! I have lived 10 miles outside Belfast for over 40 years and have never been down some of these streets! Barney was a wonderful tour guide who knew his stuff and was a great storyteller. Amazing stories about some buildings that I’ve walked by many times and some a little more off the beaten track. Whether you are a tourist if a local, this is 2 hours well spent.
A truly excellent tour of Belfast’s City Centre. Barney shares many entertaining and unique local stories that shed light on the city’s long history. He does a great job bringing out the stories of each site he visits on the tour, giving new perspectives for visitors and residents alike. Barney is also a really friendly and enthusiastic guide. You can tell he loves what he does. I definitely recommend this tour.

Clifton House

What We Offer:
Clifton House is an impressive Georgian building, set in tranquil landscaped gardens in the heart of Belfast. Opened in 1774 by Belfast Charitable Society, the building was the original Poor House in Belfast until the 1880s. For the next 120 years it was a hospital and a nursing home for older people. Today it still provides residential and sheltered housing for older people and continues to be the home from which the Society delivers its philanthropic work to address disadvantage. At the heart of the building is Clifton House Centre, where the past is brought to life through guided tours, talks and exhibitions, as well as augmented reality, helping to tell the stories of the Poor House and those who sought sanctuary here. Just returned from our amazing tour which included the graveyard, This place is a must see and not just for tourists, it always surprises me what interesting things are right there in front of us. Niail and Jason great guides even with the corny jokes very friendly and amazing knowledge. Need to go back again and do the Maryann Mccracken tour. What a women for her time.

Went for a guided tour with my father last week. Our guide Noel was very friendly and extemely knowledgeable. In spite of the fact that we were not from Belfast or even the UK/Ireland his story telling abilities were very captivating and gave us lots of insight into the history of Clifton house and Belfast as a whole. Highly recommend this trip.
